The 18-year-old striker needs to agree on personal terms with the Lions and complete a medical before the deal can be finalised.

Millwall the Preferred Destination

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho will be eager for Parrott to gain further first-team experience next season.

Earlier in the season, Spurs were short on attacking options due to injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. However, Mourinho would not use Parrott in the first team.

After Spurs’ loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in March, Mourinho spoke about Parrott’s future. He said: “He’s not ready.

“He’s a good kid we want to help, not only on the pitch but off it. He’s a kid who’s going to have a real opportunity but when we decide it’s right.”

The striker also missed out towards the end of the season with a hernia injury. He was omitted from the Spurs squad for their remaining fixtures after the restart.

Spurs reportedly received further interest from other teams in the Championship for Parrott. However, Tottenham wants their prospect to remain close by in London.

Following Harry Kane

If the move is completed, Parrott will follow in the footsteps of his current captain at Spurs, Harry Kane. The prolific England striker spent time at the New Den during 2012 season.

Parrott’s Republic of Ireland U23 teammate, Jayson Molumby, also spent last season on loan with Millwall. The 20-year-old reportedly gave a positive reference to the club of Parrott which could have sparked interest from the south London club. Molumby since returned to parent club Brighton and Hove Albion.

Parrott made his Premier League debut for Spurs earlier this season. He was used as a substitute in the 5-0 win over Burnley in December. The Irish striker made four senior appearances for Spurs this season.
